FOUR DRAW REPRIMANDS AFTER MARIJUANA DETECTED
Ottawa -- Four Canadian athletes -- two from water polo and one each from
wheelchair rugby and tae kwon do -- have been reprimanded after testing
positive for marijuana, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport said
yesterday. The drug is not considered performance-enhancing, and the four,
whose names were not released, were not suspended. Marijuana is on the
World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list, but it is classified as a
"specified substance" -- something generally available in medicinal
products or "less likely to be abused as doping agents."
