MINIMUM JAIL TERMS NEEDED FOR CRYSTAL

It is good that the government has increased the penalty for crystal
methamphetamine.

However, they should have also increased the minimum time a person would
remain in jail.

Our judges never give anywhere near the maximum, so increasing the length
of time to spend in jail is no big deal. But if the judges had to give out
a longer minimum sentence then it might have some impact on persons who
deal in drugs.
