U.S. OFFICIALS THINKING CLEARLY STRAIGHT ON EMERY
Chris Emery has it all wrong. Most Canadians do not want the prohibition of
cannabis eliminated. If the use of marijuana is one of our Canadian values,
then we have our heads in the sand and should be very ashamed. Canada just
does not have the guts to take a firm stand against it. Mr. Marc Emery
should be extradited against the drug trade and the medical bills and care
for those who have been damaged by drugs.
It is a well-known fact that marijuana interferes with the learning
process. Recent studies find it a greater risk for lung cancer and
frequently leads to other, even more dangerous drugs. We must fight the
drug trade at every opportunity to protect our young people and our medical
and welfare system, which ultimately has to pick up the bills.
