THE METH SCOURGE

There is a "meth epidemic" sweeping the nation with verifiably harmful
social consequences that receives less attention from the federal
government than marijuana, which is nonlethal and less harmful to society
than tobacco or alcohol. Since the Supreme Court recently clarified that
medical marijuana is prohibited under federal law, this means that more tax
dollars are spent investigating people who provide marijuana to sick people
than those who blow up residences by negligently cooking methamphetamine.
