AMERICANS HAVE NO RIGHT TO GRAB CANADIAN LAND
Re: The Long Arm of Uncle Sam, Aug. 20
The United States Drug Enforcement Agency is asking a Seattle judge to
order the seizure of B.C. property where a tunnel was dug to smuggle drugs
to the U.S. Am I the only Canadian who is getting very angry and very
concerned that the Americans would even consider seizing any Canadian soil?
The sad thing is that Canadians will likely sit on the sidelines and fume
quietly to ourselves if it happens.
What happened to our "friendly neighbours" to the south? If anyone seizes
Canadian land, it should stay in Canadian hands. I'm disgusted that
Americans feel they can just charge in and take whatever they want. The sad
thing is that they understand Canadians are a passive lot.
I guess I should start planning my future vacations to exotic places like
Kelowna or Penticton, U.S.A.
