CANADIANS PLAYED ROLE IN POT: EMERY
Pot activist Marc Emery says every Canadian will be to blame if he gets
shipped off to the U.S. to face drug charges.
The B.C. Marijuana Party leader says he's contributed thousands to various
political parties and paid hundreds of thousands in taxes to the federal
and provincial governments. Yet he claims he didn't receive a single
complaint about his online seed selling business before the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Administration busted him.
"Everybody in Canada knows what I've been doing," Emery said outside B.C.
Supreme Court yesterday. ". . . So if I get taken away for the rest of my
life to a U.S. prison, then every Canadian has let it happen because they
tacitly and explicitly condoned my behaviour."
