PUSH TREATMENT, NOT DRUGS

Help me to understand this.

Why does the government (the taxpayers) provide free needles to help
addicts to perpetuate their drug addiction and thereby perpetuate the
whole drug problem?

Where do the drugs come from?

Are these law-abiding, working people who have paid "legitimate" money
for illegitimate drugs or are they irresponsible and non-working people?

I don't get it. Surely the wiser thing would be to channel these
addicts into treatment centres where they can choose to be free from
their self-inflicted bad habit?

There are places, such as the Union Gospel Mission, that are genuinely
interested and care about helping these people. I say, let's get
behind these front-line charities instead of funneling money into this
so-called safe injection site.
