TWISTED POT LAWS

To the Editor:

Marc Emery, publisher of Cannabis Culture magazine, is not breaking
U.S. drug laws, because he is not a U.S. citizen and does not have to
abide by our twisted laws. Emery has been selling marijuana seeds on
the Internet for 10 years, as do many other companies.

It could have more to do with what he was doing with the money that he
made off the seeds that he sold.

Unlike the other seed companies, Emery did not pocket the money for
personal gain. He gave the money away to pro-marijuana organizations
around the world to help change the unjust laws on marijuana.

Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Karen Tandy's own words:
"This is a significant blow not only to the marijuana-trafficking
trade in the United States and Canada, but also to the marijuana
legalization movement. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of Emery's
illicit profits are known to have been channeled to marijuana-
legalization groups active in the United States and Canada. Drug
legalization lobbyists now have one less pot of money to rely on."

This is an attempt to steal our ability to have free speech in the
United States. This is the sad truth.
