NO JUSTICE
To the editor:
Lyn Yesh (Monday letter) applauds the attempt of Boulder City
authorities to seize Cynthia Warren's house and adds that Ms. Warren
"should be in jail."
For the major crime of growing six marijuana plants, Ms. Warren stands
to lose her house, probably her livelihood as well, and "should" be in
jail. What do you people do to real criminals? Flay them alive and
sell their organs?
Forfeiture laws are devices that district attorneys use to get a
second bite at the apple if they are displeased with the punishment
meted out by the court.
So the prosecutor adds his own punishment -- and calls it
justice.
