BYLAW A CHARTER VIOLATION

Re: Bylaw to ban drug-use items in parks, other public places (News, Sept.
24).
Maple Ridge council should seriously have a second look at a bylaw
banning so-called "drug use items."
If a diabetic or medical marijuana patient is fined for having a
medical assistive device, such as a needle or bong, in a park, it
could be a very expensive lesson to the council, as these charter of
rights violations could lead to some hefty settlements.
