LETTER OF THE DAY
Ian Mulgrew's recent column points out an interesting anomaly about
our federal government: Does the right hand have any inkling of what
the left hand is doing?
On the one hand the government bent over backwards (and frontwards
too, for all anyone knows) to expedite the visit of convicted felon
Martha Stewart to Canada for an all important pumpkin meeting (it
seems she was supposed to ride in a pumpkin boat on the water).
On the other hand it has deported a sick man who has assisted the
government with its marijuana program into the hands of the U.S.
authorities, who will punish him severely for treating himself for
pain through the use of this substance.
Is this a total cave-in to the desires of the U.S. on all fronts, or
am I missing something?
