TRY SOMETHING NEW

David Steinkraus' "Subtle Poison" was an in-depth look at drug
effects on the fetus but ignored some of the salient questions.
Steinkraus' experts told him it isn't clear that drugs harm the
fetus. If neonatalogist Dr. David Sheftel says: "Tobacco is about as
bad as you can get. Tobacco is associated with a whole host of
problems in the newborn, period," then why aren't tobacco-smoking
moms dragged into jail the way Rachael Lowe was when she sought
treatment for opioid addiction? At least she sought treatment! Are
our government leaders crazy? If so they should be hauled-in as well.
This Drug War is stupid policy and the time has come to try something
completely new.
