CAMPBELL HAS HEAD IN SAND OVER CRYSTAL METH

I was astonished to listen to Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell's
remarks concerning crystal meth and his lack of knowledge about its
use and effect.

Crystal meth has a wide range of users, is highly addictive and is
extremely destructive.

It is a cheap, long-lasting high that is easily available.

Meth labs are extremely dangerous and are being set up in Canada at
an alarming rate.

Their growth follows the distinct trend experienced by our U.S. neighbours.

The drug is highly profitable for dealers and easy to make -- a
dangerous combination.

Campbell's head-in-the-sand approach is a prime example of why
crystal meth is flourishing.

I've been in policing for 21 years and currently run a drug squad.

I've seen first-hand the devastating effects of crystal meth on our
young people and our communities.

Crack users have told me that meth is an evil drug that never lets go
of you once you've started it. Surely, if the crackheads can figure
this out, Larry Campbell can get a handle on it.

Larry Campbell, shame on you.
