'BUD LIT' ARTICLE IS A BUST WITH READERS
Re: "Bud Lit," by Marc Horton, The Journal, Nov. 21.
The Journal must think about the message it is sending to adolescents
in the community. A recipe for honey chocolate brownies with
marijuana butter -- you must be joking!
It is one thing to publish a story about the controversy that
surrounds marijuana -- an illegal substance -- but printing a recipe
for hash brownies is quite another thing.
I am a well-educated 22-year-old who believes that legalizing
marijuana will only lead to increased occurrence of debilitating addictions.
Working in a facility that provides detox and treatment for
adolescents with addictions has taught me that marijuana is a growing
problem and is considered a gateway drug to other substances, such as
cocaine and methamphetamine.
Marijuana has ruined countless lives and can lead to devastating addictions.
