AMERICAN OPPOSES EMERY EXTRADITION
To the Editor,
I am an American who is firmly opposed to the extradition of Marc
Scott Emery. If extradited he faces life imprisonment.
Emery, head of the B.C. Marijuana Party and publisher of Cannabis
Culture, ran a legitimate business in Canada.
This business, Marc Emery Seeds, was taxed by the Canadian government
for a decade. Now American drug warriors want him in a U.S. prison
for breaking American laws in Canada.
America is blatantly disrespecting Canadian sovereignty. Please, even
if you have no sympathy for his cause, stop the extradition.
If America is allowed to do this, what kind of ugly precedent will be
set? Stand up for your country's rights.
