Singapore - Re: "Australian drug dealer's hanging a 'barbaric' end in
Singapore," Dec. 2.
At last, we have a country that follows its laws governing
drug-related offences and carried out the penalties as prescribed.
Unfortunately, Canadian courts are not prepared to pass the maximum
sentence on many criminal acts and opt for either community service or
suspended sentence.
One only has to view current sentencing of criminals to know it is
time to re-evaluate the Criminal Code and take a page from Singapore's
justice system.
