AMERICAN LIKES VANDU

Re: "VANDU not worth coverage," Letters, Dec. 7.

I take strong exception to such a call for censorship. If you don't
like it, Ms. Stelmack, don't read it!

What VANDU is doing is wonderful and brave. They have inspired others
here in the U.S. to follow suit. These people have decided to stand
up for themselves and speak about issues which concern them. What's
wrong with that? I suspect Stelmack wants addicts to rot in prison
where they can't be seen. Scrooge! Why is it that people who support
the war on drugs always seem to be for things like censorship? Bah, humbug!
