MEDICAL POT GROWER DESERVING OF RESPECT
Re: Insurance woes force man to dismantle medical marijuana grow operation
(SP, Dec. 8). Tim Selenski should be suing the insurance company.
It is beyond belief that someone with the stamina to wade through the
bureaucracy, the courage to allow random police checks, and the compassion
to help someone in need is being treated like a common criminal.
The equipment used to grow marijuana indoors is no different from that used
by members of the horticultural society to grow orchids and ornamental
flowers. It is all CSA-certified and recommended by Health Canada to be
used to grow medicine.
The insurance company should be reviled for its actions. The lack of
compassion in Saskatchewan for legal medical marijuana recipients is
unconscionable. Patients are scorned by the medical community, robbed by
Health Canada, and now, run out of the province by heartless insurance
companies. These are not the attitudes that created medicare.
More and more, the policies of this government make it clear that its
compassion is only for the aging. Compassion, like respect, is apparently
something you gain with "time served" in this province.
