CAMPBELL LASHES OUT AT HARPER
New Liberal attack ads have hit the airwaves this week, smearing
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper as a pro-American extremist and
political friend to Bloc Leader Gilles Duceppe.
And yesterday, the Liberals' Team B.C. brought in newly appointed
Senator and former Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell to talk about how
Conservative policies would impact the Downtown Eastside.
Joined by Vancouver Centre candidate Hedy Fry and Vancouver East
candidate Dave Haggart, Campbell told reporters "in Mr. Harper's
world, people who suffer addictions are bad people ... and in his
world, bad people don't exist."
Worried specifically about the future of Vancouver's safe injection
site, helping mentally ill and addicted people become productive
citizens "sure as hell isn't going to happen under Stephen Harper,"
Campbell said.
