POT PARTY SIGNS AN EYESORE

Editor, The News;

Driving through downtown Abbotsford I saw a cocky Tim Felger sign
with (Abbotsford News reporter) Trudy Beyak's name plastered all over it.

I thought, oh, no, not another round of this utter nonsense with Tim
Felger defaming other people's names to try to further his own cause.

I am dismayed at the pathetic behaviour of one of our citizens.

Yet, what is even worse is the fact that since last November's local
election, Tim Felger's big four-by-10-foot signs were allowed to stay
up or have fallen down and left in heaps of garbage all over the city.

I know Abbotsford has bylaws pertaining to the duration of election
signs. Why were these bylaws not enforced in Felger's case?

I would like to ask city council just how long anyone else's election
signs would be allowed to stand? Forever? Or until they crumble in
mounds of garbage?

It is great to see how many people create a welcome, clean and
pleasant environment and work hard to keep our city nice and tidy.

It seems to me that if our city bylaw officials are falling asleep on
the job that it is the duty of city council to swiftly remedy such
unmindful behaviour.

Or did we indeed elect a "lame-duck" city council?
