DANGER IN LIES ABOUT MARIJUANA

I'm writing this letter about Mobile County Sheriff Jack Tillman's
and Chief Deputy Mark Barlow's commentary, "Don't believe the hype" (Jan 22).

My question for Tillman and Barlow: Why do they want marijuana to
remain completely unregulated, untaxed and controlled by criminals?
Only legal products of any kind can be regulated, controlled and
taxed by any government.

The biggest danger of anti-marijuana hype like Tillman's and Barlow's
is that when children find out they have been lied to about
marijuana, they then make the logical assumption that all information
about other drugs like meth are either gross exaggerations or outright lies.

This is a recipe for disaster.
