JOURNAL SHOULD DIG DEEPER INTO KUBBY MEDICAL CARE

Where is your journalistic integrity? It is unbelievable that a man
is in jail and possibly dying of kidney failure or worse, and you
print a story, Journal, Jan. 29, quoting a police guard who says
Steve Kubby is "looking fine." Is that because he is behind bars?

Is the officer a doctor or some type of medical professional? Have
any tests been conducted confirming Mr. Kubby is experiencing blood
in his urine or hypertension from high blood pressure? Has anyone
checked with his doctors to see what they say?

Have you ever heard of investigative reports? Do you believe in
citizen's initiatives supported by your constitution? I am from
Vermont and can only hope my state doesn't take the Machiavellian
attitude your state has with regards to medicinal cannabis.

I understand Mr. Kubby was extradited on a separate issue.
Prosecution is one thing. Persecution is another. Two wrongs don't
make a right.

I have been an investigative reporter, publisher, editor and owner of
a newspaper and news director during my many years (30-plus) in the
communication industry. I am certainly wondering these days what ever
happened to journalistic integrity.

May God watch over Mr. Kubby and forgive the state of California.
