DEROCHE GROW-OP CAUSED POWER LINES TO FAIL

Police say a marijuana growing operation in the 42200 block of Bergen
Road in Deroche was so big it caused its power lines to fail.

When police and fire crews attended the scene on Jan. 26, they found
the operation and seized more than 2,400 plants, 127 pounds of dried
bud and $30,000 worth of equipment.

Mission RCMP Const. Jeff Scott warned residents that pot operations
can often cause fires to the home in question and surrounding homes.

"[We] urge the public to report [these] not only to get drugs off the
streets, but to protect their own houses against the potential danger
of fire," said Scott.
