TIME TO CHANGE LAWS ON MARIJUANA

To the Editor of THE EAGLE:- I applaud Peter Martin's op-ed column in
today's Eagle, and can only hope District Attorney Capeless reads it;
those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.

How many lives, jobs, marriages, homes, cars, and dollars are lost to
alcohol and alcoholism annually, versus marijuana? How much do all
these trials cost? Ever hear of anyone smoking pot and then getting
into a fistfight? Marijuana is clearly the more benign of the two
drugs; the laws must change.
