DRUGS: OPEN RECORDS SCARY
Dear Editor,
Kudos to Langley Township for fighting for the right to be able to
tell future tenants about possible dangers [Township toughens plans to
fight drug houses, ghjkghjk, Langley Advance].
But you reported, "He [Councillor Mel Kositsky] suggested that the
municipalities should work with the province to change enforcement and
the courts. The most effective tool, Kositsky said, would be for BC
Hydro to open their records and report homes with unusually high power
consumption - often the sign of a marijuana grow operation."
That scared the living daylights out of me. It's just what someone who
has a lot of gadgets and or medical equipment needs: the police
kicking in their doors, saying, "Where's the weed!!" and then, when
told there isn't any, ripping up the place.
I believe that's actually against the Charter, my friend, and against
police procedure (ie: illegal in and of itself).
Please try to grow up about grow ops; stop the propaganda and scare
tactics and stick to simple verifiable facts.
Opinions are like something I can't quite remember what that is _ and
everyone has them. And it doesn't make any of them right.
