POT TRIGGERS MENTAL ILLNESS IN SOME PEOPLE
To the Editor,
Is marijuana a safe drug?
If you are putting this drug into your body you should be well aware
of the potential risks involved.
Marijuana is capable of bringing about or worsening a number of mental
illnesses, including but not limited to panic disorder and
agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, depersonalization disorder
and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.
While it's true there are many who use cannabis and have no mental
complaints, some are not so lucky. There are a number of cases,
including my own, where the illness emerges after few uses of the
drug. And by few, I mean less than 10 uses!
