COCAINE NOT THE REAL THING

The Medicine Hat Police Service is warning the public about the
possibility that some "bad" illegal drugs may be within the city.
Sgt. Randy Youngman, spokesperson for the Medicine Hat Police
Service, says that overdoses have been happening frequently in
Medicine Hat in the last few weeks.

"In the past two weeks we have had a couple of cocaine overdoses that
are suspiciously alike," says Youngman "...Not usually seen in this area".

Youngman says that the overdoses are not unusual in themselves, but
it's the frequency that they have occurred in the area that has the
department worried.

"We had two last week, within a day of one another, and a few the
week before," Youngman says. "At this point the overdoses seem to be
coming from cocaine."
