DRUG WAR A WASTE

I am writing to protest the ongoing, nationwide drug war. I was
recently charged with marijuana possession.

Aside from my personal choice to use marijuana, I am just the same as
any other responsible citizen. I vote, have a job and pay taxes. To
avoid having this charge appear on my record, the court offers the
7411 clause, which requires me to take daily breath tests and weekly
urinalysis. I also must attend three Alcoholics Anonymous/Marijuana
Anonymous meetings per week, and undergo extensive outpatient
substance-abuse treatment. I don't want or need any of the
aforementioned breaches of my privacy/time. Even if you don't
personally choose to smoke marijuana, surely you would much rather
see our law enforcement resources put to better use than tracking
down "hardened criminals" who use marijuana. Please write a letter to
your elected officials and ask them to stop arresting marijuana users.
