HEMP ISSUE CLARIFIED
Re: "Hemp: a growing need" (Feb. 26), shame on ONDCP spokesman Tom
Riley. He knows that hemp farmers don't want a marijuana plant anywhere
near hemp. Cross-pollination would ruin the hemp and would not produce
marijuana worth smoking. Moreover, he should know that there is no
burden on law enforcement in Canada where they grow hemp. The THC
levels are checked by the Health Department. As a police officer, I
knew that marijuana prohibition was a horrible waste of my profession's
time. It still is.
