DO NOT DO DESTRUCTIVE DRUGS

Dear editor,

The other day my wife and I made a trip to Nanaimo in answer to a
phone call.

On the other end of the phone was a young lady out of our past who was
in tears and devastated by the harsh reality that her husband had lost
his job, his home and all their money because of drug addiction. The
drug of his choice is not important, as all illegal street drugs are
destructive and life-threatening. We all know the ones I am talking
about.

I would like to tell your readers that this young woman called for
help and I don't believe it is too late for her. God has already begun
to bring about certain events that have started to change the life of
her and her husband.

If you have never used these dangerous weapons that have been formed
against our society and young people, please in the name of all that
is sacred to love and life, don't ever start.

These drugs will rip a gaping hole out of your life, your heart, your
mind and your soul that may never be healed again. They will destroy
and distort every good and faithful virtue that was ever worth living
for and preserving. They will leave you totally in despair and unable
to cope with the normal circumstances of life.

If you are involved with or know others that are using these drugs,
please stop and help them to stop as well, and warn them to turn from
the influence of these drugs.

The drugs and those who use and sell them will tell you there is
nothing better, but I know they will only bring you pain, suffering
and death.

There are many people who can help you, pray with and counsel you, so
seek advice and be honest about your problem. The worst thing you can
do is to hide it. You are hurting yourself and everyone who loves you.

And please don't think for one moment that you are alone or that
nobody loves you or cares about you.
