MONEY FOR ADDICTS, NOT CEOS
Health Minister George Abbott's pledge to commit $8 million in new
funding for crystal-meth treatment options is to be commended.
As reported in The Province, the goal is to increase the total number
of treatment beds to 1,038.
The missing part of the equation is how much will be spent providing
care and cure for those addicted -- and how much will be paid as
bonuses to CEOs of the various health authorities for short-paying
the providers.
