CHASING THE WRONG CRIME
To the Editor:
As a retired police officer, I deeply regret the time my Canadian
colleagues spend busting marijuana growers. Every hour they do, drunk
drivers are able to kill more. Child molesters have less chance of
being caught before they entice a teen to 'meet in real life.'
Marijuana is a poor choice and should always remain illegal for
non-adults. It is lunacy to have my profession chase cannabis while
Canada allows unrestricted sales of the alcohol, the second deadliest
drug in Canada behind tobacco.
