TAKE HOOKERS' BENEFITS

Re. Karen Kansfield's March 13 Forum letter, "Prostitution crackdown
won't solve root problem":

Most of these prostitutes are doing exactly what they want to do, and
many of them are already getting taxpayer money via welfare,
subsidized housing and food stamps. None of the above is enough to
keep them off the streets, off drugs or off booze. No amount of
money, help or counseling is enough.

Here's a thought: Take it all away. One "freebie" taken away for each
prostitution offense or arrest. This system may help these offenders
learn about how the rest of us have to live, while we're supporting them.

Let's find viable jobs for the single, divorced moms not on welfare
who are trying to raise kids without taxpayer money.
