MONTREAL POLICE ARREST 26 IN ALLEGED DRUG RING
Montreal -- In another sign of the expanding presence of marijuana
grow operations, Montreal police yesterday announced the arrest of 26
people, alleging they are members of a drug ring where Italian and
Asian organized-crime groups had formed an alliance.
Police said the alliance sold up to $18-million in marijuana yearly,
growing it in homes scattered in the Montreal area and exporting it to
the United States.
