SUPPORT AND SOME WORRY OVER METH PLAN

The Editor,

Re: "FHA has meth treatment plan for youth," the Now, March 22.

Eight million dollars of taxpayers' money is being spent on tackling
crystal meth abuse and rehabilitating addicts in B.C. That means more
beds, more programs, more assistance. The Fraser Health Authority will
also get an extra $560,000 to pay for youth outreach workers and harm
reduction measures. Part of the goal is also to prevent alcohol and
marijuana abuse.

Providing this extra money is a good idea because we want Surrey to be
a clean, safe, meth-free community. We want to reduce the number of
drug users as much as we can. With this extra funding, we will be
closer to reaching our goal.
