DRUG EDITORIAL 'SILLY'

Dear editor:

Re Step up and stomp drugs, Mar. 9

What a silly editorial. Are you perhaps taking the logical route and
asking your readers to stomp on all drugs including alcohol and tobacco.

I think not. (Please God don't take away my martini before supper, my
beer with supper and my cigar after supper.)

I will assume that, like most so-called opinion leaders, you are an
enthusiastic supporter of treating the users of the harmful drugs you
don't use as criminals while leaving alone those who use the harmful
drugs you do use.

Let's face facts here. There is no more justification for punishing
drug users and distributors today than there was in the past to hang
witches, lynch blacks or gas Jews.
