SAY 'NO' TO DRUG WAR II
In the drug war madness, it is routine for politicians' ignorance or
grandstanding to trump science and common sense. Major medical
authorities all agree, needle exchange programs save lives, save
money and do not increase drug use. The American Medical Association
says, "The need for such programs and modification of laws and
regulations is urgent, considering the contribution of injecting drug
use to the epidemic of HIV infection."
Many addicts have recovered to become contributing members of
society. They can recover from addiction, but they can't recover from a coffin.
