HARPER WISE NOT TO SOFTEN POT LAWS

Stephen Harper should be congratulated for having the judgment and
courage to go against current, but poorly informed, public opinion,
and drop Liberal plans to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.
Marijuana is a complex and variable mixture of mind-affecting
compounds -- including carcinogens -- which affect response times,
diminish motivation, lead to other addicting drugs and inflict heavy
medical and social costs. Mr. Harper deserves a genuine thank you
from all Canadians.
