TAKING AN IRON FIST TO CRIME
Stephen Harper's government plans to crack down on crime. A few
highlights of what it plans to do:
- - Dump Liberal plans to decriminalize pot
- - Implement mandatory minimum sentences for drug dealers
- - Eliminate house arrest for violent or repeat offenders
- - Remove provisions that allow freedom from prison after two-thirds of
a sentence
- - Kill the gun registry
- - Implement zero-tolerance policy for child pornography
- - Introduce more comprehensive DNA bank for convicted sex
offenders
- - Raise age of consent from 14 to 16
