AADAC YOUTH EVENT LACKS VOLUNTEERS

The Fourth Annual Do You Wanna Risk It Youth Event, Scheduled For May
6 At The Edson And District Leisure Centre Will Not Go This Time Around.

The spring happening will not occur due to a lack of volunteers.

"It's not that people didn't want it to go -- it was just too much,"
said Edson Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC) office
manager, Edith Zuidhof-Knoop.

The event shows youth how they can have fun without relying on
alcohol and drugs.

Many of the volunteers who work Do You Wanna Risk It were committed
to the Alberta Winter Games in February.

As a result, the turnaround time between the games and the teen event
was simply not enough.
