LEGALIZE DRUGS AND END GANG VIOLENCE
Editor, the Times:
Re: Gangs ruin a nice, quiet year, Times, Aug. 18.
When are you going to understand that all this violence and mayhem has
one cause - a law that our "wise" representatives in Ottawa passed
early in the 20th century in a fit of antiChinese race prejudice, the
Opium and Drug Act of 1923 (since replaced by the Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act of 1996)?
How many more Canadians have to die before you realize that the drug
violence will never stop while that disastrous legislation is in force?
The violence will never stop until drug prohibition is ended and all
recreational drugs are legalized.
Did we learn nothing from the prohibition of alcohol?
Wake up and smell the coffee for crying out loud!
