RED DEER GROUP CONTINUES TO DISTRIBUTE FREE CRACK PIPES
A Red Deer-based organization plans to continue distributing materials
for smoking crack cocaine despite a recent Alberta Health Services ban
under one of its programs.
"It's about the prevention of HIV and hepatitis C in people who would
smoke crack. We stand for the drug users in our community," said
Jennifer Vanderschaeghe, executive director of the Central Alberta
AIDS Network Society. " We will not leave them."
The Red Deer organization has been offering free crack pipes since
2009.
