CANNABIS SPRAY MAY SOLVE PROBLEMS

I urge those who are convinced that marijuana has genuine value as a
medicine to Google "Cannabis Spray" and "Sativex."

A British firm, GW Pharmaceuticals, has been growing 40,000 pot plants
at a secret location in a government-approved research project. The
result has been development of Sativex, the first prescription drug
using real marijuana extracts including THC and CBD in the form of a
sublingual mouth spray. Early trials in Britain show it to be a safe
and effective treatment to relieve pain. It is awaiting approval in
Britain and Bayer Inc. is involved in seeking approval to market the
spray in Canada.

It is interesting to note that the patient does not get high or feel
any buzz from the use of marijuana in this spray form. I will not be
surprised if within a few years, we can expect approval in the U.S.
for the legal use of doctor-prescribed and pharmacy-dispensed cannabis
in spray form.

There will no doubt be many potheads with a sore toe that will not be
pleased if this comes to pass because their doctors prescription won't
get them high anymore. It might solve the many problems associated
with the passage of Proposition 215 that has caused more problems than
it has solved and silence those whining about how patients are going
to get their "medicine."

This information is still below the Congressional radar but some may
wish to alert their representatives regarding the technology.
