OTHER MEDS IMPAIR
In response to Patricia A. McManus' July 9 letter: If we are to take
away driving privileges for medical marijuana patients, are we also
to do so for those who are prescribed painkillers and medications for
allergy, blood pressure, sleep and the many other maladies that could
also impair one's ability to drive? To be fair, all users of any
medication that causes impairment would also have to lose their
privilege and then we're talking about a whole lot of people who can
no longer drive. I'm all for safe streets for everyone, but I believe
McManus' view singles out medical marijuana and would unfairly take
away driving privileges based on what medications have been prescribed.
