SUPES TO DECIDE ON MEDICAL MARIJAUNA DISPENSARIES
The future of medical marijuana dispensaries in Nevada County goes up
for a final vote Tuesday before the Board of Supervisors.
In the 1:30 p.m. afternoon session Tuesday, Supervisors will decide
whether or not to ban medical marijuana dispensaries from operation
in Nevada County. Dispensaries are already banned from operation in
the incorporated county, including Nevada City, Grass Valley, and the
Town of Truckee, where zoning prohibits dispensaries.
Some medical marijuana access advocates maintain the county is
effectively pushing people to buy from illegal growers without access
to a nearby dispensary. In June, the county's Planning Commission
recommended supervisors ban dispensaries largely based on advice from
county law enforcers, who oppose dispensaries.

meet beginning at 9 a.m. at the Eric W. Rood Administrative Building
on 950 Maidu Ave. in Nevada City.
