RCMP BUSTS MEDICINAL-POT FARM

Drug-enforcement Mounties busted a medical marijuana operation they
say was exceeding its legal limit for pot production "by a factor of
almost seven times."

Last weekend, RCMP investigators searched a property in the
26000-block 112th Avenue in Maple Ridge.

The property had two Health Canada licences that allowed for a total
of 220 marijuana plants for medicinal use.

During the bust, Mounties seized 1,490 plants. Two men were arrested
in a barn, where the pot was being grown, and a third inside the home.

Also seized was an R44 helicopter, two pickup trucks and three mobile
grow ops that were not yet being used.

The investigation is still under way and more arrests are expected.
