STORY ON MEDICINAL POT UNFAIR TO MARC EMERY
Re: 'Marijuana grower worried for future of medicinal pot' ( Daily
News, May 25)
Gregory Twyman maligned my husband Marc Emery by accusing him of
being responsible for the large number of people applying to Health
Canada for medical marijuana licenses.
Twyman doesn't know me or my husband, but is incredibly rude and
cruel to denigrate Marc, who sits in U.S. federal prison unable to
defend himself. How is Marc to blame for the huge number of sick and
dying Canadians who need medical marijuana? That isn't Marc's fault.
Marc has simply helped patients and improved the system, not hindered it.
I find it shameful that someone who is sick and benefitting from the
Health Canada medical marijuana program would dare impugn the man who
led the charge in making medical marijuana seeds and information
available to patients and Health Canada itself, before there was
anything else at all.
In addition, Marc helped spearhead and finance the activism that led
to acceptance and progress in the medical marijuana field here in
Canada It's that improved access and availability Twyman now enjoys.
Considering all that, I condemn Twyman's ignorance and misinformation
about my husband. His comments are unacceptable and incorrect, and I
hope he makes an effort to inform himself about the facts and offer
an apology for insulting my husband.
