TREAT DRUG DEALERS LIKE IMPAIRED DRIVERS
Kudos to the Victoria police drug team for their sting operation
which has reportedly purchased drugs from 27 dealers. Only two or
three have been charged so far and they are back on the street
pending court appearances.
What am I missing here? The traffic cops can nail me for one too many
drinks, seize my car, suspend my driving privileges and cost me
untold hundreds of dollars in towing and impound fees without a court date.
If you are going to send a message to street dealers, keep them in
jail, have a quick hearing and incarcerate them.
I wouldn't be driving after my encounter. How do we know they won't
be back dealing for the next year or so while they wait for a sentence?
