BURNEY DRIVER ARRESTED FOR BEING UNDER INFLUENCE OF POT FOLLOWING WRECK
A Burney driver was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving
under the influence of marijuana after his pickup skidded into
another pickup that had overturned on Highway 299 west of Highway 89,
the California Highway Patrol announced late Wednesday night.
Nicholas Noah, 34, was booked into Shasta County jail, but he was not
listed as being an inmate there this morning.
The CHP said a pickup driven by Scott Brulc, 28, of Burney was
westbound on Highway 299 when he lost control of it around 7 p.m. and
overturned.
Brulc and his passenger, Nathan Sloan, 32, also of Burney, were
trapped inside the overturned pickup and trying to get out when
Noah's westbound pickup skidded into the top of their cab, the CHP said.
Brulc was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding with moderate
injuries, while Sloan was taken to Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall
River Mills with minor injuries, the CHP said. Noah was not hurt.
