KNOCKING DOWN POLICE IGNORES THE TRUTH

Re: For shame (Letters, NewsLeader, Jan. 21)

In the last few weeks, I keep reading negativity about the
police.

I think it's getting out of hand and is pretty disgusting.

While I believe that, yes, some officers abuse their power, I also
believe that's the truth for every other organization out there. And I
believe that fact should not negate all the good things police do on a
daily basis.

I take my hat off to them, for every law breaker they have caught and
will catch, for every life they have saved and will save, for putting
their lives on the line every day to ensure safety for all citizens.

And yes, Mr. Barth, for every pot grower they busted and will
bust!

Mr. Barth says the only people the cops are "hurting" are the ones who
get caught, while the remaining drug dealers will successfully enjoy a
growth in business.

Well then, why don't we throw our hands up in the air and let
criminals be criminals?

I say BS to that!

If the police catch 10, that's 10 less to worry about.

Mr. Barth's letter on the value of legalization of marijuana simply
shows that someone needs to light up again.
